Society Alive (SA) since its creation have embarked on a number of project and events. Our projects are designed to achieve our overall aim of encouraging integration and societal cohesion while meeting our objectives of creating a positive change amongst residence of our community.  Some of our projects and events include

  • The Bowthorpe Feast: This is an annually event for families and all members of our community and its surroundings. This event is aimed at bring the entire community together in a social and friendly atmosphere. This allows various families to network, make new friends and enjoy a day filled with fun. Features of this day normally include free face painting and balloon modelling for children, art and crafts for children, dance, raffle draw, performances by guest artist, bouncy castle and lots of food and drink. This event is absolutely free to all.
  • End of year feast: This is yet again another annually event usually at the end of the year to mark the end of the year and celebrate achievements of year. –December.

 

  • Total Wellbeing: This project is in line with our commitment towards encouraging a holistic wellbeing amongst all members of our community. The total wellbeing project comprises of a fitness session, healthy eating workshop and a wellbeing café. The fitness session holds at least once a week. It involves the uses of various workout DVDs, most popular is the beach body insanity DVD by Shaun T. This session is for everyone who is physically fit and willing to push their body. While we place emphases on physical fitness, it is important to balance how much we burn with eating healthily, hence our healthy eating workshop. Our healthy eating workshop encourages diets that keeps us healthy and fit. The Wellbeing café provides a warm and friendly atmoshpher for all. It is a place to share valuable experiences, even pains as there are compassionate ear willing to listen and offer comfort and advice. We also have information centres for valuable information.
